Longwood
Joinery is fully committed in its pursuit to protect the environment
throughout it manufacturing processes. It strives to support
the forest for ever campaign by wherever possible obtaining our raw
materials from suppliers who support managed forestry.
Documentary evidence can be provided as required.
The
bulk of our waste material is in the form of wood shavings and is
collected and used for animal habitation.
Timbers
are preservative treated with Protim 418, in our mini pre-vac
treatment plant, with manufacturers 30 year guarantee against insect
and or fungal attack.
We
have also pioneered the provision of Pre-Finished, and factory
glazed frames through our partnership with Teknos Coatings UK Ltd,
we can offer this facility using the latest water based,
micro-porous paint or stained finishes, in a variety of colours and
shades. Frames finished in his way are given a manufacturers
guarantee of up to 10 years.
Our
window frames are rebated to accept double glazing units and are
compliant with the latest regulations, and are British standard kite
marked, giving a manufacturers 5 year guarantee. Glazing units can
be provided, either factory fitted, using Hodgson Sealants D4
security glazing system, or can be provided for on site. The
correct fitting of which can and does save energy consumption within
the home, thus helping to protect the global environment.
